DO I HAVE TO PUT MY UNIT IN THE RENTAL PROGRAM?

This question comes up a lot, and the answer is simple - NO!

You own your unit and may use it in accordance with all of the rights afforded a property owner, as limited by law, local zoning restrictions and all covenants of the Shell Island Homeowners Association

If you choose to rent your unit, you may do so by several means:

You may rent it out yourself

You may contract with a properly licensed rental management entity

You may enter into a rental agreement with Shell Island Resort's Central Rental Agency,
Maryland Hospitality, Inc. (MHI)

ALL UNIT OWNERS, THEIR GUESTS, AND ANY PERSONS THAT THEY MAY RENT THEIR UNIT TO ARE ENTITLED TO FULL USE OF THE FACILITIES SUCH AS POOLS, PARKING, FITNESS ROOM, VENDING, RESTROOMS, LOBBY, ETC.

Services provided by MHI such as in-unit maintenance, maid service, reservation assistance, etc are only available through a standard rental agreement with MHI.

For this reason, and because rental income is maximized through MHI's efficient resort operations management year-round, Port City Properties recommends MHI for your unit rental management.
